Today was my first experience with Reiki. :) I went for a "consultation" with a Reiki teacher today, to get an idea of what it is like and plan on taking lessons. I've never felt Reiki before, only read about it, so it was really cool to get to feel it hands-on. No pun intended. -lol- The teacher/instructor/sensei? had me sit in a wooden-backed chair, and try out a few meditation techniques that he taught me to help channel (I guess "channel" is the right word) the "ki" (universal energy). While I was meditating, he did a kind of blessing, and did some Reiki over me. I immediately felt what seemed like hot water dripping or running through my body, starting at the top of my head. It was so hot at first that I literally jumped back from him. After a minute, though, it became warm and soothing. I left feeling very relaxed, calm, and very ok with everything. It was a nice feeling. I'm going to start working on the meditations tonight, and trying to open myself up to the flow of universal energy.
I've also been watching Pres. Bush's last press conference. I am not a fan of Mr. Bush for many different reasons. But it's nice to see him speak to the press as a person instead of The President of the United States. I may still disagree with a lot of what he has to say, but I also respect him as a person, and do agree very much with certain other ideas that he has. He really doesn't seem that bad when he's not Commander in Chief. -lol-
I hope everyone is having a nice day. Take the time to reflect on some things you're thankful for. It always makes life seem much nicer when you stop and appreciate what you have.
